DESCRIPTION: APW - Illinois, Pennsylvania Special, 24J, 18S, gold-filled OF original A.W.C.Co. "Fortune" case with attractive engine turning and engraving detail including a flying bird to rear, "Pennsylvania Special" signed white enamel DS Gothic numeral dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, capped third wheel, jeweled barrel arbor, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, gilt mvt screws and regulator assembly, s#1730813. An excellent example of this rare and beautiful high grade private label.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, superb two-tone color, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, some small bits of oxide to regulator spring; dial with some scattered faint outer chapter hls, some fine scratches to center section, some scattered edge flakes with the most notably near 11; fine hands with areas of oxide and finish loss; case shows little wear, horizontal scratch to front of pendant, few small dings or nicks to band, good engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
